MSc. in Biological Sciences, Universidad de Valle. 2004
BSc. Biology with emphasis in Zoology. Universidad del Valle. Cali, Colombia. 1997
Professional Profile
Prof. Doc. Oscar Murillo-García is full professor of the Biology department, and current head of Graduate Program of Sciences- Biology at Universidad del Valle.
After studying biology with emphasis in Zoology, he graduated in 1997. He obtained his Ecology Ph.D. in 2014 at University of Florida. He belongs to the Animal Ecology (Zoology Section) research group, coordinating numerous research projects on vertebrate species. Professor Murillo-García is generally interested in ecology, evolution and conservation with an emphasis on tropical vertebrates. In particular, his research interests are related to the ecology of populations and communities of tropical vertebrates using mathematical and statistical models.
Projects in Process
Contribution to the conservation of the Valle del Cauca tropical dry forest through strengthening.
Teaching Interests
Professor Murillo's teaching interests are related to the ecology, evolution and conservation of tropical vertebrates; and data analysis methods.
